Man Jailed for NHS Smoking Scam – He Wanted to Be Popular
Its Sad, Outrageous, and slightly funny if seen out of context.
Harry Singer who stole £90,000 posing as an NHS no-smoking advisor, has been jailed for 18 months. The boring details are that he cheated his way into becoming one of the best advisors the NHS Hired to stop people from smoking.
All he did was agther a group of canvassers who collected details from people on the street and he passed these guys off as his “converted” quiters. In effect, he claimed he cure over 2000 people of smoking.

The funny thing is, he spent all the money he made, (he got paid £45 per quiter equating to £90,000), he spent on televisions for the elderly, paying for for social events in the community and helping those in financial need.
The former caretaker, who has also been contracts manager for Shell as well as once owning three oil trading companies, told jurors he was currently running another venture importing Mongolian Vodka.
Now I wonder if this guy thought he was a modern day Robin Hood? Taking from the Fat and Daft NHS trusts and giving to the poor? Or was the fellow just daft?
